Istanbul Planning Agency carries out activities to support young people, especially, to take an active role at every stage of planning the future of Istanbul, with the events it organizes at the IPA Campus. The "Upcycling Design Marathon" held on April 15-16 focused on the disaster area due to the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred on February 6. In the marathon attended by university students, the teams developed their project ideas under the mentorship of Bahar Aktuna, Bihter Çelik and Kenan Saluğu. Istanbul Planning Agency Secretary General Oktay Kargül said, “As İPA, we are trying to create opportunities for young designers' ideas to turn into real projects. İPA Campus is an important place brought to Istanbul by our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, to carry out these studies. After the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, we decided to continue the work we carried out at the IPA Campus with an earthquake focus. With the creativity of the dear HAT team and the support of our valuable mentors and jury members, the HAT project was born. "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the HAT team again," he said.
